juxtaposition

Juxtaposition means placing things side by side.It is done with intention to bring out a specific quality when two contrast things are being used. In art this usually is done with the intention of bringing out a specific quality or creating an effect, particularly when two contrasting or opposing elements are used. The viewer's attention is drawn to the similarities or differences between the elements.

Class exercise:
Choose three numbers from group one and group two. Combine each number.
i choose:
- 2, 7 = lightning tree
- 1, 0 = Flower head
- 0, 6 = fly spider

Writea sentence by using the words given and draw pictures for each of the group:
that tree struck by lightning

the flower falls on his head

the spider is attacking the fly

Combine the words and create a new thing:


lightning tree
flower head

fly spider
